Sinopacific Shipbuilding starts manufacture of new PSV series

SPP17China’s Sinopacific Shipbuilding reports that its Zhejiang Shipyard started work May 9 on the manufacture of the first in a series of SPP17 PSV offshore support vessels for Paris-headquartered Bourbon Company.

The platform supply vessel is the eighth ship to be manufactured on the company’s small ship line, and  is to be ABS classed.

The SPP17 PSV has been designed in house by Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group and is its second design, the first beng the SPA80 AHTS design.

The new ship has a total length of 61.80 meters, a width of 14.00 meters, and a depth of 5.8 meters, with a design draft of 4.30 meters and a maximum draft of 4.90 meters. Deadweight tonnage is 1,700 tons, and its service speed is 12 knots.
