Siem Offshore declares options for OSCVs at STX OSV
Written by Nick BlenkeyOCTOBER 10, 2012 — STX OSV Holdings Limited reports that Siem Offshore Inc. has declared options for the design and construction of two additional 120m Offshore Subsea Construction Vessels (OSCVs).
With an overall length of 120 meters, beam of 22 meters, and draft of 6.6 meters, the DP2 vessels will each be equipped with a 250 ton AHC crane and with Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS) for Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicles. The 5,000 dwt vessels will each have accommodations for 100.
Deliveries are scheduled from STX OSV’s Brattvaag, Norway, shipyard in second quarter 2014. The hulls of the vessels will be delivered from STX OSV’s Tulcea shipyard in Romania. STX OSV already has two OSCVs under construction for the same customer in Norway, and two Platform Supply Vessels (PSV) in Brazil.
Siem Offshore Inc. says the contracts for the two latest OSCVs have been made “at market terms.”
