Dredge is third in a series on order at Keppel FELS by Van Oord

Keppel FELS has awarded Kristiansand, Norway, headquartered Red Rock AS a contract for the delivery of two cranes for the third in a series of newbuild trailing suction hopper dredges the Singapore shipyard is building for Van Oord.

The two cranes are tailor made and fit for purpose to best serve the needs of the shipowner. Red Rock has existing contracts for delivery of cranes for the two first vessels in the series.

Each dredge will receive a knuckle jib crane and a fixed boom crane – one of 25 tonne capacity and the other with a 45 tonne capacity. Both cranes are designed for load handling onboard and overboard the vessel, and will be equipped with the technology and structure that can perform optimally under the unique conditions of a dredging vessel, Red Rock says.
