Ocean Rig takes delivery of drillship

DECEMBER 26, 2013 — Ocean Rig UDW Inc. (NASDAQ: ORIG) has taken delivery of its sixth newbuilding drillship, the Ocean Rig Skyros, from South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries. It is currently mobilizing to offshore Angola to commence drilling operations with Total.

Ocean Rig is scheduled to take delivery of a further drillship in the series next year and two more in 2015. The ultra-deep water DP 3 drillships are based on the Saipem 10K design.
