Meyer Werft delivers Celebrity Reflection
Written by Nick BlenkeyOCTOBER 10, 2012 — Germany’s Meyer Werft yesterday delivered the 126,000-gt cruise ship Celebrity Reflection to Celebrity Cruises in the Dutch port of Eemshaven.
The Celebrity Reflection is the fifth ship and final ship in the Solstice class built for Celebrity by the shipbuilder and is another extremely eco-friendly ship. Highly energy-efficient systems, a solar power system, optimized hydrodynamics, a very efficient underwater hull coating and an energy-saving lighting system using LEDs cut back the ship’s energy demand considerably.
The 126,000-gt cruise ship Celebrity Reflection is 1,047 ft long and 123 ft wide with a draft of 27 ft and a cruising speed of 24 knots.
The ship is the first, and only, Solstice Class ship to have 16 decks rather than 15. That has enabled the number of cabins to be increased by 72 to 1,515, allowing up to 3,046 passengers to be accommodated. The extra deck also provides more space in the theater and in the restaurants.
Innovations include include 34 new AquaClass Suites with 79 sq.ft verandas.
