Thrustmaster of Texas has named Jon Holvik as Executive Vice President for Business Development of Dynamic Positioning Systems. The appointment follows Thrustmaster’s acquisition earlier this year of Rolls-Royce’s ICON Dynamic Positioning business.

Thrustmaster says the DP product addition to theThrustmaster has been a great compliment to its existing product line. In addition to getting the rights to produce and sell future units of the DP products, Thrustmaster also has responsibility for the maintenance, service and upgrades of existing DP systems presently in operation around the word.

In his new role, Holvik will be responsible for overseeing the DP product business and developing growth and improvement.

Holvik brings with him over 30 years experience in the DP field. He previously worked with Kongsberg Maritime, starting as a service engineer, then being promoted to sales manager, vice president of sales and marketing and finally president of Kongsberg Maritime, Inc. He also was involved in the start-up of the Marine Technology Society (MTS) DP committee and has served on the executive advisory board of the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC).

“Jon Holvik brings a wealth of experience and deep knowledge of dynamic positioning with him to Thrustmaster,” said Joe Bekker, Thrustmaster’s President. “Jon will be an authoritative force in developing and implementing Thrustmaster’s business strategy for new sales and for aftermarket sales of existing DP systems presently in operation.”
