India mandates anti-piracy CCTV

cctvFEBRUARY 15, 2013 — The BMP4 Best Management Practices for protecting vessels against piracy recommend the installation of closed circuit television (CCTV) systems.

Gentay Pte Ltd, which specializes in maritime CCTV systems, notes that onJanuary 2013, the Director General of Shipping of the Indian Ministry of Shipping mandated that all Indian-flagged vessels other than coastal vessels install an anti-piracy CCTV system in line with the recommendations laid out in BMP4.
