Former IBIA Chairman Fritz Fredriksen joins DNV Petroleum Services

DNVFredriksenDNV Petroleum Services (DNVPS) reports that Fritz Jakob Fredriksen has joined the company as a Principal Consultant. In his new role, he will be advising shipping companies on a wide range of issues, including fuel management, regulatory and environmental matters, port operations, navigation, as well as safety training and practices.

Mr. Fredriksen was Chairman of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) from Feb 2007 to Feb 2009, where he actively contributed to the improvement of industry relations and practices in global bunkering.

Before joining DNVPS, Mr Fredriksen was a senior adviser with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) involved in policy development and execution of environmental conservation and education in Norway.

A marine engineer and master mariner by training, Mr. Fredriksen started his career with Norwegian Cruise Line in 1990, assuming First Officer and Safety Officer positions on various ships. In 1996, he joined Western Bulk Carriers and rose to the rank of Senior Port Captain.

From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Fredriksen was a manager of fleet performance and bunker purchase at Hual AS. In May 2005, he was employed as a senior manager at Höegh Autoliners AS, overseeing bunker procurement, fuel quality assurance, energy management and fleet performance.
