As vessel operators look for ways to improve efficiency and reduce downtime, predictive maintenance and automation gain traction.

As vessel owners and operators look for practical ways to improve efficiency and reduce downtime, predictive maintenance and automation continue to gain traction across the industry. At Marine Log‘s Ship Repair USA, taking place June 23–24 in Jacksonville, Fla., one session will take a closer look at how these technologies are being applied onboard today.

Titled “Optimizing Operational Efficiency and Predictive Maintenance through Advanced Vessel Automation, Analysis, and Condition-Based Monitoring,” the session will be presented by Yiannik Bennett, partner and co-founder of Growth Tree Group.

The presentation will examine how integrated automation systems are supporting more efficient vessel operations across a range of segments, including naval vessels, cruise ships, ferries and workboats. A key focus will be on predictive maintenance, enabled by real time data and condition-based monitoring, and how it can help reduce unplanned downtime and improve reliability.

Attendees will hear how integrated platform management systems provide centralized visibility into shipboard systems, allowing operators to monitor performance, capture data and run diagnostics in real time. These capabilities support more informed maintenance planning and decision making.

The session will also touch on energy management systems designed to optimize fuel use and reduce emissions, as well as emergency shutdown systems that enhance onboard safety through faster response to critical events.

In addition, the presenters will discuss how automation is advancing unmanned and autonomous marine operations, expanding capabilities in areas such as remote monitoring and subsea applications.

Through case studies and real world examples, the session will offer insight into how automation and condition-based monitoring are being used to support more efficient, reliable and cost effective vessel operations.
