Drydocks World completes another NDC jack-up project

ddw-and-ndc-senior-team-near-ndc-rig-beynounaSEPTEMBER 19, 2012 — Drydocks World, Dubai, has completed the conversion and upgrade of  the National Drilling Company (NDC) jack-up drilling platform, Beynouna.

The rig arrived at the Dubai shipyard in late July 2012, following completion of work on another NDC jack-up the Delma (see earlier story. The conversion work on the Beynouna involved the fabrication and installation of new spud cans, upgrade included replacement of shale shakers. The rig underwent major maintenance work, including overhaul of two of its cranes, blasting and painting of hull and tanks, inspection of legs, renewal of steel and pipes and upgrade of accommodations. Hydro-blasting and painting of the derrick and legs were carried out using rope access methods.
