Diversified Marine of Holland, Mich., has delivered the tug M/V Tarps to Eckstein Trade & Transport (ET&T), marking a milestone for the woman-owned marine transportation services company as it continues to expand its fleet and operations.

The vessel is named in honor of Taylor Tarpey, ET&T’s first employee.

Built with domestic steel, the 25.8- by-14-foot tug was designed for marine transportation and construction support work. The vessel is powered by twin Cummins 6.7-liter engines rated at 305 hp. each, paired with Twin Disc or ZF reduction gears. Other features include a 750-gallon fuel capacity, hydraulic steering system, flanking rudders, stainless steel shafting, manual winches and an air-conditioned pilothouse.

Founded in September 2022, ET&T began as a brokerage-focused company before expanding into equipment ownership in 2025. The delivery of M/V Tarps represents the company’s first purpose-built vessel.

“Founded in September 2022 as a brokerage-focused organization, ET&T was built on a commitment to delivering value and dependable service to our customers,” said Kasey Eckstein, president of Eckstein Trade & Transport. “Our expansion into purchasing used equipment in 2025 marked the beginning of a new chapter, culminating in the construction of our first purpose-built vessel. This investment represents more than fleet growth—it reflects our confidence in the future and our unwavering commitment to providing customers with innovative, reliable solutions that support their success. We are proud of how far we have come and excited about the opportunities ahead.”

ET&T is a certified Woman-Owned Small Business that specializes in marine transportation services supporting U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Department of Transportation projects.

The new tug will support the company’s growing portfolio of marine construction, transportation and infrastructure-related work.
