China Rongsheng secures first jack-up orders

CJ 46MARCH 25, 2013 — China Rongsheng Heavy Industries Group Holdings Limited has announceda pair of “notable breakthroughs” in the offshore market. The shipbuilder has won two EPC contracts for GustoMSC CJ46 design jack-up rigs with a total contract value exceeding $360 million.

These are the first jack-up orders won by the Group. From two separate Singaporean customers, each covers Engineering, Procurement, and Construction of one firm and one option unit.

China Rongsheng says the CJ46 exploratory drilling jack-up rigs will each measure 65.25 meters in length overall, 62 meters in breath overall and 8 meters in depth of hull. With a maximum working water depth of 112 meters and drilling depth of 9,144 meters, the jack-up rig will meet global requirements for oil drilling operations in mild-temperature waters.
