Calypso Reef Cruises adds day cruise boat

calypso slideAUGUST 1, 2013—Calypso Reef Cruises, Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia, recently took delivery of a new day cruise catamaran from Thailand’s Gold Coast Ships Ltd.

Craig McKay, Director, Gold Coast Ships (Thailand) says the vessel is 20m x 8m and is powered by a pair of 750-hp MTU diesel engines that provide a speed of 27 knots. McKay says that Calypso Reef Cruises has already ordered a second vessel from Gold Coast Ships.

Calypso Reef Cruises provides tours, snorkeling, and scuba diving to the Great Barrier Reef out of Port Douglas.

Gold Coast Ships specializes in aluminum construction, building fast ferries, water taxis, cruise and dive boats, whale watch boats, cargo vessels and private luxury boats.
