Bergen Group Hanøytangen gets LOI for rig work

deepseaatlNorway’s Bergen Group Hanøytangen has been awarded a letter of intent from Odfjell Drilling & Technology related to a yard stay for the rig Deepsea Atlantic scheduled to be carried out in August 2011. The project has an estimated value of NOK 20-25 million for Bergen Group Hanøytangen and a contract is expected to be finalized this week.

Deepsea Atlantic, currently exploring for Statoil on the Gullfaks South field, is an ultramodern sixth generation deepwater semisubmersible designed for harsh environment operations worldwide.

In the last three years, Bergen Group Hanøytangen has built up a functional, efficient offshore yard and service area on Askøy north of Bergen. The company has since its establishment carried out several extensive rig operations on different platforms.

Bergen Group Hanøytangen is part of Bergen Group’s offshore division together with Bergen Group Rosenberg in Stavanger and Bergen Group Offshore Kimek in Kirkenes.
