Norway’s financially troubled Havyard Group says that its Board and CEO Geir Johan Bakke have agreed to “terminate their employment relationship with immediate effect.” Bakke has said he is willing to be available to the company for some time to come, should it be needed.

Bakke has been employed by Havyard Group since 2001, has been CEO since 2004, and, says Havyard, “has been central to the development of the group.”

Gunnar Larsen is stepping as CEO, while the group begins the work of recruiting a permanent CEO.

Larsen comes from the position as general manager of Havyard Production, is Senior Vice President Market & Business Development of the Havyard Group and has been employed by the Group for twelve years.

The personnel change follows publication of a November 18 stock exchange announcement in which the group revealed losses on a number of hulls at its Havyard Ship Technology AS shipbuilding division.
