Australian yard seeks buyer for under-construction cat

MARCH 18, 2014 — Designer Incat Crowther reports that a 25 m catamaran passenger vessel under construction at Aluminium Marine’s Brisbane, Australia, shipyard is available for purchase.

The vessel is based on the successful Spirit of Queenstown, also built by Aluminium Marine and launched in 2013. The vessel is compliant with Australian NSCV code for vessels under 24 m and under 25 knots.

The vessel will be fitted with a pair of Yanmar 6AYM-WGT main engines, and will operate at a service speed of 24 knots in a loaded condition.

Like all Aluminium Marine vessels, including Fantasea Sunrise, Freedom Sovereign and Cobia, she is being built to a very high standard and is customizable to the operator’s requirements. The vessel can be configured for commuter service or tourist operations.

Incat Crowther says that the vessel’s contemporary, sophisticated look commends it well to a tourist operation, whilst the underlying hull and structure are rugged and versatile.

According to Aluminium Marine’s web site, the vessel can be configured to suit numerous roles for passenger/tourist and also oil/gas operations crew and cargo. Aluminium Marine says that “lease/ purchase and non bank funding can be discussed.”
