Commenting on flood conditions on the Illinois River, American Commercial Barge Lines says, “the river is open from top to bottom, but expect some delays as transit is slow. Some bridges we cannot transit due to bridge clearance. Starved Rock Lock is now fully operational and areas north of Starved Rock are becoming better operationally.”

ACBL warns that the recent flood event has not impacted the start date to the extensive lock work on the Illinois River. Lock closures begin July 1, and the river is not scheduled to fully reopen until November 1. Final dates for loading and unloading barges above the closure are rapidly approaching over the coming days.
