ABCTierIIIengineOCTOBER 24, 2013 — Trans Marine Propulsion Systems, Inc. (TMPS), Seattle,  reports that Anglo Belgian Corporation Diesel (ABC Diesel) has received Tier III approval for its “DZC” engine line from the United States Environmental Protective Agency (EPA) as of October 2013.

TMPS was named the U.S agency for ABC diesel engines in March this year.

The DZC engine is available in a 6 and 8-cylinder inline or 12 and 16-cylinder vee configuration operating from 600 rpm to 1,000 rpm and producing up to 5,435hp.

The engines are all mechanical, simple and robust with over 1,750 installations worldwide and production spanning over 20 years. The DZC engines can run on diesel, heavy fuel or bio fuels; as well as a dual fuel execution.

TMPS, which has locations in Seattle and Tampa, FL, will facilitate sales, field service and spare parts inventories for the U.S.

TMPS will be stocking a full inventory of spare parts in both locations in order to meet the urgent demands of future customers. This will alleviate the headaches and delays that many customers encounter with foreign engine manufacturing, it says.

U.S. orders for the DZC engine are becoming steady stateside with a power plant order of four 6-cylinder DZC engines and an additional two commercial vessels ordering a (6) six cylinder and an (8) eight cylinder DZC engine for their re-power. Due to a high degree of customization, the DZC engine line is an attractive option for repowering projects.

In the coming year ABC will launch its newest engine, the DL36. The DL36 is being built to celebrate Gent, Belgium, headquartered ABC’s 100th year in business. The DL meets IMO Tier III and EPA Tier IV emissions regulations with no after treatment. The engine is currently available in 6 and 8-cylinder configuration and has a power output ranging from 4,200 to over 7,000hp.
