Waterways industry pioneer Charlie Jones dead at 101

The Waterways Council reports that yesterday afternoon, industry pioneer Charles “Charlie” Jones passed away. He was 101.
Jones was Chief Executive Officer of Charleston, W. Va., headquartered Amherst Madison, Inc., a family owned operation providing a wide variety of marine services.
There will be a gathering of friends and co-workers on Thursday, October 24 at Port Amherst on the Lawn, #2 Port Amherst Drive, Charleston, W.Va., from 3:30 – 6:00 p.m.
A service will be held on Friday, October 25 at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 36 Norwood Road, Charleston, W.Va. at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will be for family only in Oak Hill Cemetery on Saturday, October 26.
