Orrin H. Ingram is new Ingram Barge CEO

JUNE 3, 2014 — Ingram Barge Company reports that Orrin H. Ingram is the new Chief Executive Officer of the company, succeeding Craig Philip who is retiring effective June 30, 2014.

Mr. Ingram has been the Chairman of Ingram Barge Co. since 1998. He also is the President and CEO of the barge company’s parent company, Ingram Industries Inc.

“Craig’s valuable guidance has played an integral part in the success of the barge company during his 28 years with Ingram,” Mr. Ingram said today. “Craig led the transformation of our marine group, not only in size and profitability but also into a respected leadership position within the inland barge transportation industry.

“His passion for safety and his intense focus on championing our ‘Zero Harm’ initiative – coupled with his foundational work in establishing and convincing the rest of the industry to support the world-class Seaman’s Church training facilities for inland mariners – exemplified his deep concern for the wellbeing of our associates.

“We thank Craig for his many contributions over the years and wish him and Marian the best as they start a new chapter in their lives,” Mr. Ingram said.

Mr. Ingram is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and began his career in the family business in 1983. He became President and CEO of Ingram Industries Inc. in 1999.

He serves on the boards of FirstBank and Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. and has been a board member of Ingram Micro Inc. Mr. Ingram is Chairman of the Board of Overseers at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. He is past Chairman of the Board of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and a past member of the Vanderbilt University Board of Trust.

Mr. Ingram has been active for many years as a volunteer in a number of other local and national organizations. He is a member of the executive board and the past Chairman of United Way of Metropolitan Nashville. He is on the board of directors for the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and serves as Chairman of the Chamber’s Education 2020 Initiative. He also serves on the boards of Alignment Nashville, Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee, the Nashville Public Education Foundation, the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance, and the Wetlands America Trust Board for Ducks Unlimited.

Ingram Barge Company is one of two primary operating units, together with Custom Fuel Services, of Ingram Marine Group.

Ingram Barge operates a fleet of more than 150 line haul towboats and nearly 5,000 barges that transport coal, aggregates, grain, fertilizer, ores, alloys, steel products and chemicals.

Custom Fuel Services operates 11 floating fueling stations on the Mississippi and Ohio River Systems and provides marine fuels, lubricants, and other miscellaneous services to towboats, barges, stevedoring rigs, and ships.

In addition, Ingram operates a ship anchorage in Louisiana.
