LNG/MDO bunkering vessel will be built to a SENER design
The Rosetti Marino shipyard in Ravenna, Italy, has been selected to build a Semi-Ballastable Barge Transporter (SBBT) LNG/MDO bunkering vessel.
With a capacity of 4,000 cu.m of LNG and 1,000 cu.m of MDO, the SBBT is being built as part of the EU-cofinanced Poseidon Med II project. Due for delivery in 2020, it will mainly operate in the North-Adriatic Sea.
Designed by Spanish-headquartered SENER, the SBBT vehicle consists of a non-propelled pontoon and a tug unit powered with a dual-fuel (LNG/MDO) Niigata engine (LNG & MDO). The tug will have an overall length of 37 meters. The cargo unit will have overall dimensions of about 86.40 x 26.70 meters.
