Farstad takes delivery of PSV from STX OSV Vietnam

SEPTEMBER 17, 2012 — Farstad Shipping Pte. Ltd., Singapore, a wholly owned subsidiary of Farstad Shipping ASA, has today taken delivery of the PSV Far Skimmer from STX OSV Vung Tau in Vietnam.

On arrival in Australia, the vessel will commence a long term commitment to Shell Australia related to the Prelude drilling campaign.

A long-term facility has been drawn with Nordea Bank to finance the vessel.

Far Skimmer has been built to STX OSV’s PSV 08 CD design, a newly developed, medium sized, diesel electric PSV with a deck area of approx. 800 sq.m. and is one of three PSVs of this design ordered by Farstad, two from STX OSV’s Vietnam shipyard and one from its Langsten, Norway, shipyard.
