The 12 members of the crew of TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff 6 cruise ship who had earlier tested positive for the novel coronavirus came tested negative in retests earlier today, according to newspaper Kathimerini which says that, after the earlier positive tests, the cruise ship was ordered to sail for Piraeus.

As we reported yesterday, the ship, the first to be allowed to start cruising from Greece post-lockdown, departed Crete Sunday evening, with all passengers having tested negative for coronavirus before boarding. The 12 were among a random sample of 150 who were tested. Those tests, and the retests, were reportedly made using the rapid PCR test method.

Kathimerini reports that when the ship arrives in Piraeus a team from the National Organization for Public Health (EODY) will be conducting fresh tests.
