Mickey Cook joins Horizon Shipbuilding

SEPTEMBER 17, 2014 — Horizon Shipbuilding, Inc.reports that Mr. Mickey Cook has recently joined the corporation as the Vice President of Operations for the Bayou La Batre shipyard.

Mr. Cook is one of the founders of C & G Boatworks, Mobile, Alabama, where he served as General Manager.

He brings thirty –eight years of experience in the shipbuilding industry to his current position at Horizon. Mr. Cook has held positions in all aspects of shipbuilding, including Ship Repair Estimator, Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, Yard Superintendent, Operations Manager and Assistant General Manager.

Horizon says that his many years of experience and relationships with others in the industry are an asset that will allow Horizon to better serve its customers and the marine industry as well as aid in the growth of Horizon Shipbuilding, Inc.

Mr. Travis Short, owner of Horizon and Mr. Cook have had a long standing friendship and working relationship that goes back for decades.
