GD Electric Boat gets mods to two Navy awards

FEBRUARY 17, 2016—Electric Boat Corp., Groton, CT, was recently awarded modifications to two Navy contracts. In both cases the work will be performed in Groton and Supervisor of Shipbuilding Conversion and Repair, Groton,  is the contracting activity.

One is a change to a previously awarded undefinitized contract action modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-10-C-2118) for conformal acoustic velocity sonar large vertical array outboard electronics development.  This action will increase the not-to-exceed value to $8,336,000.  The work is expected to be completed by October 2018.  

Fiscal 2016 research, development, test and evaluation (Navy) funding in the amount of $847,500 will be obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of this fiscal year.
 
Electric Boat is also being awarded a $7,178,000 not-to-exceed, undefinitized contract action modification to previously awarded contract N00024-10-C-2118 for redesigning a main propulsion machinery and ship service turbine generator control system for submarines.  The work  is scheduled to be completed by March 2017.  

Fiscal 2016 shipbuilding and conversion (Navy) funding in the amount of $3,589,000 will be obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of this fiscal year.
