Bollinger appoints Richard K. Murphy as senior manager

Bollinger Richard MurphyJULY 9, 2013 —Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. has appointed Richard K. Murphy as a senior manager working on Coast Guard and other governmental programs.

Mr. Murphy joins Bollinger Shipyards following a successful 30-year career with the U.S. Coast Guard, retiring with the rank of Captain. His most recent assignment was Commanding Officer, U.S. Coast Guard Yard, Baltimore, MD. Prior assignments includedstaff tours at Coast Guard Headquarters, Commanding Officer of the Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit in Miami, FL, two additional staff tours at the Coast Guard Yard, and Executive Officer of the Coast Guard’s Civil Engineering Unit in Oakland, CA.

Mr. Murphy graduated from the Coast Guard Academy with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He is a graduate of the National Defense University’s Industrial College of the Armed Forces with a Masters Degree in National Resource Strategy. He also holds a Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois, and is a Department of Homeland Security Level III Acquisition Program Manager.

Mr. Murphy has been awarded numerous awards and medals, including the Legion of Merit, two Meritorious Service Medals, three Coast Guard Commendation Medals, and a Coast Guard Achievement Medal.
