JANUARY 23, 2015 — CoCo Yachts B.V., Gorinchen, Netherlands, has won another order for one of its Coastal Cruiser high speed ferries.

In December, China’s Xunlong Shenzhen Ferry Company signed a contract with Coco and the Plenty Shipyards subsidiary of Sunbird Yachts, Zuhai, China, covering construction of a Coastal Cruiser 300 set for delivery in first quarter 2016.

The 42.3 m x 10.3 m catamaran will operate services in the Pearl River delta between Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macau.

It will offer 234 economy seats on the main deck, 64 business seats on the upper deck and a VIP room for two passengers.

Power will be provided by twin MTU 16V2000M72 diesels powering MJP 750 water jets, giving a service speed at full load of 28 knots.

The ferry’s hull and superstructure will be marine grade aluminum and the hull has been optimized for high speeds in combination with good sea keeping performance.
