Kristiansand, Norway, headquartered Siem Offshore and Seaway 7, the renewables business unit of Subsea 7, have entered into a contract for an offshore wind project in the Far East.

The project will utilize the offshore construction vessel Siem Barracuda for a minimum period of 100 days, excluding options.

The 2013-built, 120.8 meter, DP 2, Siem Barracuda is currently mobilizing to the area of operations.

Today’s news follows a January 29 announcement that Siem Offshore had reached a six month firm contract with additional options with GE Renewable Energy for another of its offshore construction vessels, Siem Stingray, commencing in April 2021.

Siem Offshore says it has a strong commitment to the offshore wind segment, where its fleet has now carried over 200,000 personnel transfers offshore.
