Waller Marine gets FEED contract for 400 MW FPP

FEBRUARY 25, 2016 — Waller Marine, Inc., (WMI), Houston, TX, has been contracted by Vires Energy Corporation of the Philippines to produce the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) of a nominal 400 MW Floating Power Plant (FPP) that will be installed in Southern Luzon for supply of power into the Luzon grid. When completed, it will be the world’s largest single barge-mounted power plant.

Waller Marine will also act as Owner’s Engineer for Vires during the vessel’s construction and installation at site. Construction of the floating generation facility is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2016.

Generating technology selected for the vessel will be Siemens Industrial Trent 60 WLE ISI dual fuel packaged gas turbine generator sets operating in simple cycle mode.

The project will be supplied with natural gas from a project-specific offshore floating LNG storage, regasification import facility to be installed by HiLoad LNG AS.
