Perisai now has three jack-ups on order at PPL

DECEMBER 31, 2013 — Singapore’s Sembcorp Marine reports that its PPL Shipyard subsidiary has secured a repeat order to build a third Pacific Class 400 jack-up rig worth US$211.5 million from Perisai Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysia’s Perisai Petroleum Teknologi Bhd.

Scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2016, this third jack-up rig will be built with similar specifications to the two rigs currently on order for Perisai at PPL Shipyard, the Perisai Pacific 101, due for delivery by July 2014, and Perisai Pacific 102, set for delivery in second quarter 2015.

Incorporating the latest drilling efficiency, offline handling features and simultaneous operations support, the high spec rig will be capable of operating in deeper waters of 400 feet and drilling high pressure and high temperature wells to depths of 30,000 feet. The rig will be equipped with full hotel services for a complement of 1,150 persons on board.
