Island Offshore back at Vard

MAY 23, 2014 — Vard Holdings Limited reports that it has secured a new contract with Island Offshore for the construction of one offshore support vessel of Rolls-Royce design. The value of the contract is in excess of NOK 1 billion.

Delivery is scheduled from Vard’s Brevik shipyard in Norway in second quarter 2016. The hull of the vessel will be delivered from Vard’s Tulcea shipyardin Romania.

To be named MV Island Victory the vessel will be a UT 797 CX design AHTS/deep water installation vessel measuring 123.4 m LOA x 25 m wide with a deck area of 1,100 sq.m. and a deadweight of 6,000 t. It will have accommodations for 110 people and typical work will be:

– Deep water anchor handling
– Heavy duty mooring and deep water subsea installation work
– Pre-laying of chain and synthetic rope at deep water
– Trenching work
– Light construction work
– P&A work
– Survey work
– IMR work
– Crane work
– Supply duties
