FEBRUARY 3, 2014—Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO), Galliano, LA, has acquired “effectively all of the assets” of the fleet of Bee Mar, LLC, Broussard, LA, according to a senior executive at Bollinger Shipyards. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Bollinger Shipyards Chief Operating Officer Ben Bordelon told Marine Log that the acquisition involved seven vessels—four 300 Class and three 270 Class Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs). The deepwater support vessels were on order at Bollinger Marine Fabricators (BMF), Amelia, LA, in various stages of production. The last of the seven vessels is expected to be completed by BMF in 2015.

Bordelon says that Bee Mar, LLC, a sister company to Bollinger Shipyards, is not expected to build any additional vessels on spec at this time.

ECO is a global leader in deepwater marine transportation, logistics and support, with its own group of shipyards. It operates a fleet of more than 200 vessels.
