Drydocks World Singapore delivers Greatship AHTS duo

great-ship-vidya-n-micDrydocks World reports that its Singapore shipyard has delivered two sister Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels (AHTS), Greatship Vidya and Greatship Vimla,, to India’s Greatship Group.

Greatships Vidya and Vimla are 9000 kW, 150 t bollard pull, DP2 vessels.

Dimensions are:

  • LOA 78.2 m
  • Breadth 18.2 m
  • Depth 8.0 m

According to Drydocks World, “the vessels are designed for optimum availability of space and meticulous layout of equipment resulting in a compact vessel providing outstanding output.”

The main propulsion engine in each vessel is a Wärtsilä 9L32, driving Wärtsilä gear boxes and propellers. Caterpillar auxiliary engines generate a total of 1300 kW per vessel, Two shaft generators provide an extra 4400kW per vessel.

The towing and anchoring equipment is supplied by Fukushima(Japan) and the DP system is equipped and commissioned by Converteam(UK).

AHTS Vidya and Vimla have completed e sea trials successfully and they are dual classed under IRS and ABS.
