CIMC Raffles books jack-up order

MARCH 12, 2014 — Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Limited (CIMC Raffles), a wholly-owned subsidiary of CIMC Group, has secured an order from Thaumas Marine, a subsidiary of Malaysia’s Coastal Contracts Bhd, to build a gas compression jack-up unit.

The jack-up will be based on CIMC’s Taisun 200B design and is scheduled to be delivered from the shipyard in 2015 and will enter service for Pemex in the Gulf of Mexico. The charter contract is for a period of eight years with an extension option up to twelve years.

The jack-up is supported by four cylindrical legs, with a leg length 112 meters. It is capable of operating in a water depth of up to 55 m and processing up to 200 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas. The design temperature is from 0-45 degrees Celsius.

The jack-up will be classed by ABS.
