Wilson Sons to built two Damen PSVs for Petrobras charter

JULY 10, 2014 — Wilson Sons (Brazil) and Damen Shipyards Group have signed a contract that will see two Damen PSV 5000 platform supply vessels built at Wilson Sons Guarujá II (SP) shipyard.

They will be delivered to WilsonSons Ultratug, which will operate them under a 6 + 6 year charter contract with Petrobras.

The 85 m long and 19 m wide diesel-electric vessels will be DP2 equipped and will comply to Petrobras specifications for the sixth round of the Program for the Renovation of the Offshore Support Fleet, including being equipped with a traveling gantry crane for offshore operations. Future upgrades, such as installation of bulk handling systems have been taken into account in the design.
