Atlantic Offshore orders FSVs from Spain’s Zamonaka

Havyard 820JULY 23, 2012—Norway’s Atlantic Offshore AS has ordered two new North Sea standby vessels (Field Support Vessels) , worth €50 million for delivery in 2014 from Zamakona Shipyards in Bilbao, Spain. The order includes options for a further two vessels.

Atlantic Offshore says the vessels are linked to contracts it has entered into with Total and Shell United Kingdom, and will operate in both the Norwegian and British sectors of the North Sea. They will be built to the Havyard HY 820 design, developed by Havyard in close cooperation with Atlantic Offshore. One vessel will be delivered with advanced fire fighting (FiFi II).

Havyard says it will deliver a complete design package as well as extensive equipment packages consisting of its own and external suppliers’ equipment.
