Hornbeck Offshore files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

Hornbeck Offshore Services Inc. (OTCQB:HOSS) and 14 affiliated debtors yesterday filed voluntary petitions for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. The debtors’ bankruptcy cases are pending joint administration under Case No. 20-32679 before the Honorable David R. Jones in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
This comes after Hornbeck’s earlier announcement that it was negotiating a restructuring agreement with lenders and intended to commence a voluntary prepackaged Chapter 11 plan of reorganization.
The company intends to request that the bankruptcy court convene a hearing to approve the adequacy of its disclosure statement and confirm the plan of reorganization on June 19, 2020, subject to the availability of the bankruptcy court.
