U.S. Shipping Corp appoints Bergeron CEO

MARCH 23, 2017- Edison, NJ, headquartered Jones Act shipping operator U.S. Shipping Corp has appointed Albert Bergeron, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, as Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Bergeron will replace Michael Ryan, who has resigned to accept a position with another company. U.S. Shipping has identified several candidates to fill the chief financial officer position and expects to hire one of these candidates in the near future. In the interim, Mr. Bergeron will continue to act as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Bergeron will also hold a seat on the company’s Board of Directors.

Mr. Bergeron has been the Chief Financial Officer of the company and its predecessors since their formation in September 2002. He has over 20 years of management experience in the waterborne transportation industry, and is a certified public accountant.

“I am excited about leading the great team at U.S. Shipping Corp, in particular Jeffrey Miller, our SVP of Chartering, and Sam Cermack, our Chief Operating Officer,” said Mr. Bergeron. “We will continue to focus on the transportation basics of uncompromising safety and compliance, executing the most cost efficient ways to manage our valuable service product and developing long term relationships with clients who view U.S. Shipping Corp as a solution for their supply chain requirements. Our success will continue to bolster the financial strength of the Company and generate the customer relationships we need to reinvest and grow our business for the long term.
