Siem Offshore to order newbuild dual fuel PSV

Siem logoAUGUST 30, 2012 —Norway’s Siem Offshore Rederi AS is set to order a newbuild dual fueled large platform supply vessel (PSV).

Siem Offshore has been awarded a contract for the vessel by Total E&P Norge AS. The vessel is serve the Martin Linge field in the North Sea northwest of Stavanger. The contrac will commence between May and August 2014 and is for an initial period of four years, with four one-year options.

The vessel has been designed in collaboration with Wärtsilä Ship Design and will have a dual fuel system for the use of either LNG or Marine Diesel Oil. The vessel will be equipped with the most modern solutions for fire-fighting and emergency preparedness, a deck of 968 sq.m and under deck capacities well suited for the intended operations.

Siem Offshore says it has received firm offers from shipyards for the construction of the vessel.
