“We’re extremely happy that Captain Tama will kick-off the second annual Maritime Cyber Security Roundtable at India House,” says John Snyder, Publisher and Editor, of Marine Log. “Cyber security is of paramount concern to everyone these days,” says Snyder, “and minimizing cyber risk is critical for the maritime industry, particularly in New York Harbor, one of the busiest in the nation.”
Sector New York is the largest Coast Guard operational field command on the East Coast. Coast Guard personnel ensure the safety and security of one of the nation’s busiest port complexes. Vessels calling on these ports and waterways transport over $479 billion in cargo and petroleum products annually. New York Harbor is also home to the Staten Island Ferry, and a number of other growing commuter and tourist passenger ferry services, as well as cruise ship passengers.
