MacGregor President departs

For now MacGregor is being run by Cargotec's President and CEO Mika Vehviläinen

JUNE 11, 2014 — Eric A.Nielsen’s career at cargo handling system specialist MacGregor has been brief. Prevously an executive VP at a mining equipment supplier, he was appointed President of MacGregor and a member of the executive board of parent company Cargotec in September last year.

“MacGregor is heading towards new challenges, and it is time to bring in new executive management to accelerate the growth and renewal,” said Cargotec’s President and CEO Mika Vehviläinen at the time. “Eric has a strong track record within global machinery and engineering as well as in enhancing performance and growing business. His international background and experience in Scandinavian and Asian business world demonstrate his excellent capabilities to respond to changing customer demands.”

Today, though, the news is that Mr. Nielsen is resigning “with immediate effect due to personal reasons.”

Mr. Vehviläinen is taking over as interim President of MacGregor and the recruitment process for a new head of MacGregor business area will start immediately..
 
As of June 12,  2014 the members of Cargotec’s Executive Board are President and CEO Mika Vehviläinen, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Eeva Sipilä, Senior Vice President, Strategy Mikael Laine, Senior Vice President, Human Resources Mikko Pelkonen and business area Presidents Olli Isotalo (Kalmar) and Roland Sundén (Hiab). Senior Vice President, General Counsel Outi Aaltonen acts as Secretary to the Executive Board.
