Kvichak delivers crew/pilot boats

FEBRUARY 13, 2014 — Kvichak Marine, Seattle, WA, recently delivered two all-aluminum 36.6 ft crew/pilot boats to Prince Rupert, B.C., Canada, based West Coast Launch, Ltd.

West Coast Launch is a water transportation company whose clients include the Pacific Pilotage Authority, airport authorities, Canada Border Services Agency and the Maher and Ridley Terminals. It also services the local First Nations villages on a charter basis and operates Prince Rupert Adventure Tours which offers whale and grizzly bear watching tours to the Khutzeymateen sanctuary.

The two new deliveries from Kvichak —Lelu and Kitson — will join the current five vessels already operating in the West Coast Launch fleet.The vessels are powered by twin Volvo D11 diesel engines, rated at 510 bhp and coupled to Hamilton 322 waterjets via ZF 205 marine gears to give the boats a speed of 35 knots.
