Cummins reorganizes Commercial Marine Business

Cummins appointeesSEPTEMBER 18, 2012 — Diesel engine manufacturer Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) has reorganized it Commercial Marine Business around five customer-focused market segments: commercial transport; offshore oil and gas; passenger transport; government/defense; and special use (fishing).

In line with this reorganization, the company has named Greg Young (at left in picture) as Director of Strategic Growth – Commercial Transport and Waldemar Marchetti (at right) as Director of Strategic Growth – Offshore.

Cummins says the addition of these two key positions will enable it to continue to meet the needs of its global customer base, while providing focus to the product and service needs of these highly specialized segments within the commercial marine industry.

As the Director of Strategic Growth – Commercial Transport, Greg Young will lead the strategic direction and growth efforts for this important market segment, leveraging Cummins experience and success in the European and North American commercial transport markets.

Mr. Young has been with Cummins Inc. for over 30 years, most recently serving as the Director of Strategy, OEM and Business Development for Cummins Westport since 2003. He has held a variety of roles within the company, including European Technical Operations, Automotive Sales, European and African Distribution Management, Quality Champion and has been located in the U./K, Belgium and South Africa.

He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Diploma in Management Studies. He will be located in Daventry, U.K. and will report directly to Jenny Bush, General Manager for the Commercial Marine Business.

In the role of Director of Strategic Growth – Offshore Support, Waldemar Marchetti will lead growth efforts for one of the fastest growing segments in the commercial marine industry.

Mr. Marchetti brings with him an abundance of offshore market knowledge, having served as the Marine Sales and Marketing Director in Latin American for the last six years. In that role, he led Cummins entry into Brazil’s highly competitive offshore market.

Mr. Marchetti has been with Cummins for almost nine years, previously supporting the distributor channel and numerous international OEMs. He is a Mechanical Engineering graduate with an advanced degree in Physics, as well as a Masters in Business Administration. He will continue to be based in São Paolo, Brazil, and will also report directly to Jenny Bush.
