cohen_thumbMarine Log announced today that Daniel Cohen, founder, principal and president of Fishermen’s Energy, LLC, will be the keynote speaker for Marine Log’s Offshore Alternatives 2011 Conference & Expo, Washington, D.C., March 1-2, 2011.

Mr. Cohen’s keynote address is scheduled for March 1 at 9 AM. The conference venue is the Washington Marriott in Washington, D.C.

“We are extremely pleased that Mr. Cohen has agreed to kick off Offshore Alternatives 2011,” says Jane Poterala, director, Marine Log Conferences. “With a planned operational opening in 2012, Fishermen’s Energy could well be the first demonstration scale offshore wind farm in North America.”

Fishermen’s Energy is unique in that it was formed with the long-term goal of organizing the fishing industry from Maine to South Carolina to develop offshore energy resources. Fishermen’s Energy has proposed two projects off of New Jersey, the first being a State Waters Offshore Windfarm 2.8 miles off of Atlantic City, which is in the advanced stages of planning and implementation. The other project is a 350MW windfarm in federal waters about 12 miles off of Atlantic City.
