Lugano, Switzerland, headquartered Cavotec SA reports that it has won another order for its innovative MoorMaster automated mooring technology, this time for the Viking Line ferry berth at the Port of Turku in Finland. The system will be delivered in 2020.

“The MoorMaster system is the only proven and widely used automated mooring technology available in the world today and we’re delighted to have been selected for this key project,” says Patrick Mares, President Cavotec Ports & Maritime.

Cavotec will design, supply, commission and service a multi-unit MoorMaster automated mooring system for the Viking Line Turku application. The system will moor the 218 meter long passenger and vehicle ferry Grace, and the new-build Glory. Grace entered service in 2013, and Glory is scheduled to make its maiden voyage in 2021.

A similar MoorMaster system was installed at the Port of Helsinki in 2016. Since then, that system has performed some 5,000 moorings to date.
