Captain Oli Olsen takes new role with Stream Marine Training

Paisley, Scotland-headquartered Stream Marine Training (SMT), part of Stream Marine Technical, has appointed of Captain Oli Olsen, former deputy director of seafarers and manning at the Bahamas Maritime Authority, to a new role focused on business development offering consultancy packages and modern training solutions
At SMT, Captain Olsen will be responsible for developing and strengthening SMT’s engagement with shipowners, operators, and stakeholders. His role includes promoting the company as a trusted training provider and technical consultant for clients planning newbuilds or converting existing ships to alternative fuel operations.
His professional background includes service at sea as AB, mate, and master, as well as shore-based roles such as marine superintendent, barge master, and offshore installation manager (OIM) on offshore oil rigs.
Captain Olsen will also contribute to the development of modern training methodologies, including the use of simulators, online learning platforms, and webinar-based instruction. In addition, he will review emerging opportunities for new services driven by evolving regulatory and industry requirements.
