Burger starts construction of explorer yacht

MARCH 17, 2016—Burger Boat Company, Manitowoc, WI, has begun the construction of a custom 103 ft 6 in x 26 ft 5 in full displacement steel and aluminum Explorer Motor Yacht designed by DeBasto Design, Miami, FL.

The owner along with award-winning designer Luiz De Basto recently visited the shipyard to formally kickoff construction with an “Owner’s First Weld,” which positions a commemorative plaque aboard the yacht. The yacht will be launched in the spring of 2017, with delivery shortly thereafter.    

Two Cat C-18 ACERT main engines will provide propulsion power. The megayacht will have a cruising speed of 12 knots.

The ABS class yacht has a modern exterior design and contemporary interior décor. De Basto, working closely with the owner, created a stylish, oceangoing, long-range explorer yacht for cruising and sportfishing.
