Horizon Shipbuilding to build USACE towboat
Written by Marine Log StaffHorizon Shipbuilding, Inc., Bayou La Batre, AL, was recently awarded a contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, to build the M/V Shorty Baird Replacement, a 95 ft Z-drive towboat.
This past August, Horizon Shipbuilding delivered the 114 ft towboat M/V George Grugett (shown in photo). Back in April 2012, it delivered the 58 ft towboat M/V General Irwin to the Corps of Engineers.
