Vigor Industrial’s US Fab delivers covered paper barge to Georgia Pacific

vigor bargeUS Fab LLC, a Vigor Industrial subsidiary, has delivered a 180 ft x 52 ft x 10 ft covered paper barge to Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products LP.

“We have worked closely with Georgia Pacific on this project to provide them with a high quality barge that is built to last” said Chris Morgan, Vice President of US Fab. “This vessel marks Hull No. 14 for our Swan Island facility in Portland, Oregon.”

“We are pleased to work with a local shipbuilder who has delivered a first-rate barge on time and on budget,” said John Briggs of Georgia Pacific. He also noted, “This barge will help Georgia Pacific continue to provide low-cost shipping for finished product from along the lower Columbia River to its warehouse in Portland.”

The design for the barge was provided by Associated Marine Systems from Corbett, Oregon and the details drawing was done by Elliot Bay Design Group in Seattle, Wash.

US Fab is the Pacific Northwest new-build subsidiary of Vigor Industrial LLC
