Video shows unique drydocking at BAE Systems Ship Repair

A recently released video shows what is believed to be the first ever dual drydocking of U.S. Navy destroyers at BAE Systems Ship Repair in Norfolk, VA.
The time-lapsed video of the 19-hour drydocking process shows the USS Mason (DDG 87) and the USS Bulkeley (87) being positioned stern to stern into BAE Systems Ship Repair’s massive Titan drydock, the largest floating drydock on the U.S. East Coast. It has a length of 950 feet, width of 160 feet and a lifting capacity of 52,000 tons.
The two destroyers are scheduled to stay on the drydock until the end of April, where they will undergo a series of routine repairs and modifications for the Navy.
